Tell Your Story for International Overdose Awareness Day!
We are currently in the middle of three intersecting crises -- the COVID-19 public health crisis, a deep economic recession, and the impacts of long-standing racial injustice being more clearly revealed in this moment. At the same time, the overdose crisis is also increasing. Last year nearly 72,000 people died from a preventable overdose across the nation marking an all-time high. And a White House analysis since then showed an 11.4 percent year-over-year jump in fatalities for the first four months of 2020. Record a message to share your story by August 24, 2020 so that People's Action can review and brand it in time for turnaround for the August 31st International Overdose Awareness Day roll out.
